This November, Compass House was humbled by the incredible generosity of community organizations and schools that stepped up to support our clients. From personal care items to winter clothing and supplies for our rapid rehousing program, these thoughtful contributions help us provide essential resources to homeless and runaway youth in Western New York. We want to shine a spotlight on the amazing efforts of the Maria Love Fund, Clarence High School National Honors Society, Bishop Timon High School, and Sigma Gamma Rho, who made a tremendous difference through their donation drives.
The Maria Love Fund and Clarence High School National Honors Society
The Maria Love Fund has a long history of connecting those in need with resources, and this month they did just that by linking Compass House with the Clarence School District. The Clarence High School National Honors Society embraced this partnership with enthusiasm and immediately organized a drive to collect essential items for our clients.
Through their efforts, students rallied their school and community to donate personal care items, clothing, and other much-needed essentials. Their commitment to helping local nonprofits extended far beyond Compass House, as the Maria Love Fund and Clarence students worked together to support many organizations across Western New York. We are so grateful for their hard work and compassion, which is making a meaningful difference for so many in our community.
Bishop Timon High School
Bishop Timon High School also joined in to support Compass House this month by organizing a personal care item drive. These items—such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant—are always in high demand, as they are critical for helping our clients feel stable and cared for during challenging times.
The generosity of the students, faculty, and families at Bishop Timon reflects the best of what a community can do when we come together to support one another. Their donations will have an immediate impact on the lives of the young people we serve.
Sigma Gamma Rho
When Compass House case manager Tamika Potts connected us with Sigma Gamma Rho, we knew something special was about to happen. The organization jumped into action, collecting a wide range of items for our clients. From winter clothing to essential household goods for apartments in our rapid rehousing program, Sigma Gamma Rho’s contributions will help ensure that our youth are warm, safe, and supported during these colder months.
This partnership has been an incredible example of how collaboration and kindness can bring resources directly to those who need them most. We are so grateful for Tamika’s initiative and Sigma Gamma Rho’s generosity.
A Heartfelt Thank You
At Compass House, we see firsthand how acts of kindness can transform lives. The efforts of the Maria Love Fund, Clarence High School National Honors Society, Bishop Timon High School, and Sigma Gamma Rho have reminded us of the strength and compassion within our community.
Your donations—whether personal care items, winter clothing, or household essentials—aren’t just supplies; they are a lifeline for the youth we serve, helping them on their journey toward stability and independence.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission, and for helping Compass House continue to provide critical services to the youth of Western New York. Together, we are making a difference. 🧡
